Hi, I need some info for a friend of mine. He lives in a rural area about 11 miles from the city & is also down in a valley. He would like to know which antenna would be best for his reception. Also he drives an 18 wheeler from Union City, Tn to Memphis & Mississippi daily & would like to pick one up on his route if anyone knows a store that stocks them. He wants to get the right outside antenna the first time & is not into 800 band at this time. Thanks for any help. Jim

For VHF-High band base unit use, I recommend the Scantenna.


Fairly inexpensive and works great on VHF-High band. Comes with everything he needs, coax, connectors, balun, etc.
