I received a note that indicates how these mutual aid ambulances are identified on EMS CW2 (482.21875/162.2 PL):
Only some of the FEMA Mutual Aid Units (most are doing interfacility transfers and dispatched by AMR from Javits)
810A-Q = Bronx South
820A-Q = Queens West
830A-Q = Queens East
840A-Q = Bklyn Central
850A-Q = Bronx North
860A-Q = Man North
870A-Q = Bronx South
880A-Q = Bklyn North
890A-Q = Queens Central
Yes EMS CW2 is dead. They've moved comms to the New York City DoITT (UHF) system. TG's 41184 & 41216. P25 digitial. Very busy traffic on there.
It's the older system New York City DoITT (UHF) Trunking System, New York City, New York - Scanner Frequencies not the newer 700Mhz one. And correct, these TG'S are not listed. They must have just set them up for this operation.
No cross patch. Appears they just created these 2 new TG'S and shifted all traffic off EMS CW.
41216 EMS City North
41184 EMS City South
The new P25 DoITT system? I don’t see those TGs listed in the DB, if you could make a submission that would be awesome.
Yes, I am picking up traffic on P25 talkgroup EMS City South. Just heard “830Adam” call in a job. I am also getting traffic on EMS City North. I wonder if they plan to encrypt these talkgroups for the duration of the mutual aid operation.
If they're not encrypted now it's unlikely they will be, especially if these are mutual aid talkgroups.
Adding encryption would require calling all the radios back in if they don't already have it, and if there are technical difficulties use of encryption would be troublesome for agencies who don't normally use the radios or system.
Thanks kb2kmm - I also hear traffic on 5360 EMS Hospital, also carrying 8XX units traffic
Hearing the same thing. Sounds like any 800 units are responding to calls in queens.Just to reply on my own post - it sounds like all Queens locations on TG 5360.
Hearing regular hospital notifications on the notify TG along with jobs being dispatched to 800s units. Whoever is dispatching at 1800 hours today is doing an amazing job with the non-stop transmissions.
