Any iphone users able to play feeds?
I haven't had any luck, has anybody else? if it was in a quicktime/apple format it might have a shot, but I haven't found any so far. I have a pilot friend who is interested in some ATC feeds.

Thanks.

I got my $100 rebate. Used it to buy $100 worth of iTunes music.

I'm confused on your last sentence. What exactly am I not able to get?

Try this test...

On your desktop/laptop Macintosh, navigate to your link feed using Safari.

Click the link for the feed you wish to monitor.

iTunes should launch and provide the feed.

This concludes the compatibility test. If the feed works in this manner it will work on the iPhone.

Do the same thing on your iPhone.

These folks have the most compatible feeds available.

Not true.

The iPhone does not have "iTunes" on it, it is a mobile version of everything. Safari either won't do anything or says "Sarafi cannot open this URL".

I've been playing around with it quite a bit, trying to use a QuickTime applet on a webpage to try and get it to play. I'm able to play MP3 sound clips from a webserver, but not stream.

So, the answer is that an I Phone will NOT play ANY streaming feeds from the internet?
Not just ATC, but streaming radio, XM, etc?

I went to the ATT store and tried out and I Phone today.
Bad news for anyone who wants to listen to live feeds. (At least according to the two employees I talked with).

I phones do NOT play any file that requires Adobe Flash player.
I went to the NHL website, went directly to the audio page and hit live broadcast.
The error message was: requires Flash Player.

Apparently the Flash player is too large to be downloaded to an I Phone.

I cannot corroborate whether on not any of this info is correct, but it seems to me that something is seriously wrong with the I Phone, when numerous other ATT phones are able to receive live TV and radio.

Could Apple have screwed up this badly on a $400 phone?
(I am sure the answer is YES)

How can the I Phone play You Tube Videos with streaming audio?

Something is wrong here, and I wish I knew SOMEONE who knew what they were talking about!!

Correct.

Size is not an issue, it's just not supposed as of the current firmware (1.1.2).

iPhone/iTouch have a YouTube widget that is able to play youtube movies directly. You do not use their website, which uses flash, to do this. It's a separate application.

Bottom line is, it's completely possible, it's just not supported yet.

Okay.
It is possible to access MANY MANY feeds on an I Phone.
I am buying an IPhone tomorrow.

Ok, you let me know what scanner feeds you're able to listen to when you're up and running.

I am listening to many of my favorite feeds.

I cannot listen to feeds from Teamspeak.

What are you interested in?
I will let you know if I can get them on my phone.

Could you try http://www.remotehams.com and see if your iPhone works there..

I've followed your links, and read reams of howto stuff in therm, and still don't think what you've done would work for me.

Thanks...

I can think of one reason, Bluetooth. I wish scanners would start building them into units.
