Its common for new radio systems to be "staged" at the vendor's shop (aka warehouse). Trunked systems are typically "pre-built" and tested at the factory to make sure they function correctly before installation by the customer.

I think Houston had a really good powerpoint showing the process for their new radio system with photos from the Motorola factory testing facility then installation at the prime site.

I just heard on the scanner that Meriden has started switching to digital today.

Just out of curiosity... Why are all these small towns encrypting? Too much local chatter about your neighbor maybe. They don't do very much anyway! Just wondering. I can understand bpt, new haven and such

The equipment you have is for Meriden Public works, Multi site Digital Mototrbo system with GPS.

Yes they have to know where they're going and keep people from running out to the plow and asking for favors. Plus they don't want people to know where the trucks are so they can't complain whey their street isn't plowed yet.

I guess we're not as broke as malloy claims since we can afford new radios! LOL

The license is for 852.4625, it would be surprising to be that far off.
the city is licensed for 7 800 MHz channels. I can't hear them so I can't say what's active.
