The "Linc" uses iDen digital, so youd need a programmed radio for the system.... As well as authorization to be on the system. Also on a side note- No scanner made can do iDen digital.

As to freqs.. look in the db here, the 800 MHz Southern Linc system is well documented for MS, AL, and GA.

Hope that helped.

No Way Possible to monitor SouthernLinc

NoFear,

There's really no way with any Southern Linc radio or any scanner to listen to Georgia Power on their SouthernLincs.

The only way you might (***MIGHT***) hear anything is if you correctly guess which talkgroup they happen to be using at that time. Otherwise, it'll cost $10,000+++ to buy a service monitor from Motorola (good luck finding one) AND you'd have to be in range of that particular cell/repeater.

For the majority of users of radioreference.com, scanning is a hobby. As such, there are times when frequencies *need* to be documented so we all will know what they are even if one cannot listen to the transmissions.

yep guy, sorry. S-Link, Nextel, Verison Push-to-Talk, digital cell phones...all the same...you can't listen in. Don't sweat it, plenty of other things to listen to.
