Yesterday, I was reviewing new information in RR when I saw a change occurred in Temple and Waco for S&W hospitals.

Since this was recently submitted, I did not think it would be in the RR DB. I could not find it. Therefore, I constructed a NXDN trunked system using the RAN, etc. I was a bit confused when I observed LCN in Sentinel. One of RR friends told me that I didn't need to program this for trunked purposes.

Today, I parked the SDS 100 on S&W "system." I heard TG 202, S&W Security 2 fire up.

My hat goes off to those who pass through Wacko and help construct these systems.

I will be going to Temple, Texas in the near future to see if I can hear them as well.

I don't know if the HOTRRS TG 214 for Hillcrest police will work anymore.

You're welcome.

I've had the basic details for probably 18 months, but didn't make 2 separate trips down there until November/December last year (mainly researching another pet project in McLennan County, not to mention addressing a Kolache fix in West, but including these along the route). There are more sites around Austin, and likely one near College Station as well that have not been identified - but those are longer than a day trip for me, so I don't know if or when I'll get there to scope them out. Both Temple and Waco reported Site 20 as a neighbor (Which based on licensed frequencies that were sent as part of the neighbor lists is likely Lakeway), so there's a lot of sites missing.

The BSW System uses dynamic addressing, which means the control channel will pass the voice frequencies over the air, much like a P25 system, and thus you don't need to put LCN's into the SDS (Because the "LCNs" used by the system are out of range for the SDS, Sentinel won't download it to the master database -I've brought this to Bearcat Joe's attention, but to date there's been no fix from the Uniden side). The system also rotates control channels daily, so someone monitoring the control channel for enough days will have all the frequencies for the site (and I have been able to calculate a bandplan for the LCN's).

Here's the other sites that are licensed for NXDN - I know Frisco-Golden Gate is a new hospital slated to open in March, so I haven't started researching it yet. But the rest of these are likely on air, and on the same system.

Austin Oak Hill (Travis County) - WREX507
Brenham (Washington County) - WRXT990
Buda (Hays County) - WREX480
College Station (Brazos County) - WRXS682
Frisco-Golden Gate (Collin County) - WSFU282
Lakeway (Travis County) - WRXT991
Marble Falls (Burnett County) - WQUQ809 and WRXS679
Pflugerville (Travis County) - WRKM991
Round Rock (Williamson County) - WRXS677
Taylor (Williamson County) - WRSX680

I've been monitoring S&W Security 2, TG 202 here in Waco. It is the only talk group I've heard thus far. I don't know if this a recently installed radio system or not. I don't know how long this system has been operative.

Today, I heard the words relating to "escalation. I am assuming this refers to de-escalation of aberrant behavior. When I used to encounter disruptive behavior, all I had to do is call the searcher's desk. Security took care of them, pronto. There are times to talk & other times to take action.

Thank God I am using a Uniden SDS 100 because the number of frequencies is not a major issue like the previously owned PSR 500.

The other day, I put this NXDN system in ID search. Hence, today, I heard TG 2502 talking about open valves and associated alarms. They were attempting to reset the system. I am assuming this might be a maintenance talk group. However, I don't know what to call it. I will program this little boy and see what I hear specific to talk group name and number.

I looked at the radio ID's that I received - NexEdge systems have this little feature that when a radio transmits, it also transmits a name over the air (some P25 and most Tier 3 systems do this as well). Of the three radios that I picked up I only got partial names on each, but at least one says "Waco Eng". I only got three short transmissions during my visit back in December, so there wasn't enough to say for certain.

So it sounds like 2502 could be called "Waco Engineering" - 202, although I labeled it "Security 2" could be re-labeled as "Waco Security" since I hadn't seen it before my trip in December, and as far as I know hasn't been heard at any other sites.

I will be in Waco Wed and thursday night. I'll be staying near 35/loop6. I have unitrunker on a laptop and a SDS100 and 436Hp. Is there anything I can do in the evening or run during the day while I am gone to help with this?

BSW Hospitals are using NXDN, which Unitrunker doesn't support (I have Unitrunker I use for legacy Motorola, SDRTrunk for legacy LTR, and DSDPlus for everything else). Only SDR application I know that supports NXDN is DSDPlus (Fastlane Edition)

If you have paid for the NXDN upgrade on the SDS100, then you could try and record audio activity and help identify talkgroups. So far only 202 "Security 2" and 2502 "Waco Engineering" have been confirmed at that site. Due to a bug in the backend for the national database, Sentinel won't show the system, and so you'll have to enter it manually, just leave the LCN's at 0, the scanner will sort it out automatically.

I don't have that upgrade. Sorry

I monitored traffic over the weekend.

I heard them call talk group 2502 as "central sterilization." Reportedly, Hillcrest once talked about using a fancy device for room sterilization.

I also heard the following units talking on S&W PD 2: 7103, 7104, 6106, 6103, 5103, 6102, 7104, 5106.

I didn't know that S&W provided security sweeps at various facilities here. They do walk-throughs.

I heard them mentioning facilities on University Parks and another on Pine.

I can now see "why" they hired them. I never knew this level of aggression occurred in hospitals here.

Yeah, many hospitals now got robots that they can move into a room and remotely activate, uses a high-powered UV light to sterilize the room. There's been several stories online (and of course videos) talking about it.

I looked at the logged radios that I've seen previously and none of those radio ID's show up (which means I don't have the OTA radio name either) - of course other than my two trips to Waco, I haven't monitored BSW sites in DFW recently (although that may change for me in the not-so-distant future).

I've noticed that the coverage at all their sites in the DFW area have coverage well beyond the hospitals and figured that might be for security/facilities to have coverage at some of the off-hospital clinics/urgent care centers (although the small BSW primary care office here in Van Alstyne is well out of range of the nearest hospital).

Yes, I can confirm that S&W Security has been doing security details outside of the Hillcrest complex. Thus far, I've heard them talking about facilities on Pine & University Parks.

When S&W Hillcrest was being established, they talked about high tech sterilization. I am thankful they pulled me out of Hillcrest ICU when I crushed C3-C7. I angered the sorry ass neurosurgeon at Hillcrest after I told him Providence Hospital had a neurosurgery team waiting on me. They did not like this. In fact, the sorry ass S&W neurosurgeon said, "Well, you're going to end up in a wheelchair."

The neurosurgeon at Providence addressed the infectious things people bring into the operating room. When they were getting me ready, they coated the nostril lining with an iodine solution. I did not have any complications from getting an infection while in the hospital.
