Where I live, I can receive at least two different NOAA weather transmitters, but only one of them actually covers my county. When in Weather Scan mode, the scanner will stop on the one I am not covered by, forcing me to Hold and manually tune the proper one. More troubling, in Weather Alert mode, the same happens unless I remember to Hold and manually tune in.

I see nowhere that a weather channel can be avoided to prevent this, but figured I'd ask in case I am missing it. Thanks for any tips you can offer!

Not really. This is a preprogrammed scan list. They probably don't want people to delete weather channels because you may transition to an area that uses the very frequency you locked out. Then you may miss alerts, etc.

This won't be helpful for weather alerting purposes, but for general weather scanning: You could create a "Weather" Favorites List, programming all of the weather frequencies but for the annoying one. Assign it its own Favorites List Quick Key, such as 9. That way you could do weather scanning with fewer button presses (9 Eyes).

Our severe weather usually comes from the SW. I actually monitor the NOAA station to our SW instead of our local station. This gives me more time to act.

I would be monitoring both in the event weather comes from another direction.
