SDS100/SDS200: Any working 90-degree adapter for GPS/Power cable?

I am running my SDS100 in my car, connected using the BC-GPSK GPS receiver and BC-UTGC adapter cable. It works, however the USB cable sticking straight out of the side of the unit causes issues for me.

I ordered a 6” Mini-USB cable with a 90-degree end from Amazon and placed it on the end of the BC-UTGC, and it will power the unit but it will not receive the GPS signal. The cable I purchased has the same number of pins as the BC-UTGC.

Does anyone know of a solution for using a 90-degree Mini-USB plug on the SDS100?

FYI - my scanner will power with these, but it does not recognize the GPS when I'm using this adapter. I got mine this morning and have tried to get it to work, but to no avail.
