I have one that I have never used. It is too big for my car.
I was thinking mounting in Garage with an external antenna, But the freq range is just 400MHZ
Can I change the frequency range?

Thank you, yes I bought this a long time ago from State of California surplus in Sacramento, It came out of the Ford Mustangs they were testing. So far only 400 mhz channels can be saved in programming which is odd because at the time CHP only used 154.905 for an in car repeater and all other radio traffic was 40-45mhz. I will try the software.

I remember those! Awesome scanners. Very fast. And unusual form factor. Was the first computer-programmable scanner that I owned.

I was scanning VHF with it.

If I lived in a rural part of the country that didn't have a lot of strong (or digital!) signals and I could find a good one I just might buy another one to play with. Loved editing the text file in Notepad that contained all the frequency and display data.
