Anytone Anytone ATD878UVII Plus Software Issue

I have two Anytone ATD 878UVII Plus handhelds currently running firmware and CPS 3.04. Awhile back I had issues with the 3.05 firmware and CPS and went back to version 3.04. Today I downloaded and installed the 3.06 firmware and CPS. The first thing is did after installation was to read the radio so I had the codeplug and data to reinstall after the firmware upgrade and MCU reset. The radio said it was reading the radio and i received a error and the data was not on the software. The error that pops up on the CPS, "Get Option From Comm Data Error 2500000". I tried to search online and there are no results for this error.

The radio reads and writes without any issues with the 3.04 firmware and CPS.

V3.05 is a major update. One of the things new with this, is that the memory addresses for the channels is in a different part. This is also if you have the RT Systems software, you can no longer cross write between it, and the original CPS without getting this error. In order to update to 3.05, you need to export your data in .csv, then import into the v.05 CPS. It will then work.
Side note: V3.04 is the last completly stable release. After that some APRS functions are broken, among other things. If you happned to download V3.07 in the week that it was out, don't install. It's been pulled, it's got more bugs than a cabin in the north!

I am running ver 3.06 in my Anytone D878UVII PLUS. I am getting the “Get Option From Comm Data Error 2500000” when I try to read or write to the radio. I first check to see what com port has been chosen, click on it and then attempt my read or write function but get the error after what appears to be the completion of a full read or write operation. I have deleted the CPS and reinstalled it to no avail. What am I missing?

Additional; The CPS worked fine with com port 6 showing but for some reason the only available com port has changed to 3. So far, the only corrective action posted has been to re-instal the CPS, but it isn’t working for me.

I bought what was advertised at as a UVII Plus but was sent the previous model with the blue button. Having said this, I was able to use the CPS to install firmware version 3.06 without any issues and it selected COM 6 automatically.
I am running Windows 11 Pro by the way.

That was the issue I had
Do a MCU reset after the firmware upgrade and it should work. That's what I had to do.

I do backups of my code plugs using both Anytone software and RT Systems software. I had a friend look at the issue and he corrected it for me, where I was getting the 2500000 error. But since I had deleted everything relating to the Anytone CPS (including any code plugs I had backed up), I went to the RT Systems software for my code plug and installed it. Next, I wanted to go into the Anytone CPS and park a backup of my code plug I had just installed using my RT Systems programming. And when I tried to read the radio it gave me the error code again! I’ve asked both Anytone and RT Systems what was causing it. No reply’s as yet. The best I can figure (from another post) is Anytone has this issue with anything newer than version 3.04. And while version 3.06 works when first installed, there is something that triggers the error after I use the RT Systems software. Going forward, I just may revert back to version 3.04 FW & CPS. But what will I loose if I do this? What are the improvements with 3.05 and 3.06? (Version 3.07 was out there for a while but they pulled it… giving me more of a concern it’s not RT Systems programming software that is causing this problem, but Anytone’s ability to develop a rock-solid piece of programming software that eliminates the dreaded “Get Option From Comm Data Error 2500000”.

I'm having the same problem, I downloaded the PNWDMR community code plug, installed it via the Anytone CPS, read the radio via RT systems, made one frequency change and then wrote the radio using RT systems. When I attempt to read the radio via Anytone CPS I receive the Get Option From Comm Data Error 2500000 and the Anytone CPS v3.08 software crashes.

I found if you uninstall the Anytone firmware and CPS and then reinstall both (be sure to follow ALL the steps) your Anytone CPS will come back to life. But stay away from the RT Systems programming or it will go back to that same error. I fired off a query to RT about this and they acknowledged my email but to date they haven’t gotten back to me one way or the other.

Just encountered the same issue on my D-168. I really like the RT Systems programmer though, much easier to use, especially importing from repeater book. As long as RT's progammer is working, I won't worry about the Anytone CPS for now. I had just upgraded it from 1.05 to 1.07.
