Aor 2002 to 2515

Morning.

Could anyone tell me if it is possiable to up-rate an AOR 2002 to an AOR 2515 model?. This would mean extra memory and faster scan/search speed. I am not tech minded, but this would include an memory chip and a faster cpu chip. I sounds simple, but I guess you need an electronics expert. Am I right?.

I know it has been done by ACE electronics, but could it be done at an radio repair shop?

As these are very old Japanese models, I rather doubt it. You would need someone who was very intimately familiar with the innards of a 2002 to even begin to attempt such a modification

ACE is long gone, and why upgrade a limited radio, go with AR-3000 and have SSB, RS-232, and more coverage.
