Dave, I'm away from my shack but if I remember correctly press b (for bank b) and should enable that. When I return home I will check.

Haven’t played with the radio for quite a while but I think if you are receiving a memory channel for example in bank b then selecting scan will start a scan in that bank.

This is making me tear my hair out
Dave press F then scan. The scan list comes up. Put the cursor on A and hit PASS. Put the cursor on B and hit PASS. Both banks should be highlighted, now press enter. Then hit scan and both of your banks should be scanning. This is from memory, I used to own an 8600.

Ok, I don't have my manual, but I have my 8600 on and scanning. If I want to change banks, I press the memory button and it will change memory banks.

Which one is the memory button please

Scanner group 0 will not let me make any changes and I have highlighted A and B in scan group then pressed enter but I don't know how to choose which scan group and how to scan the groups.
Dave

I can scan bank A but not bank B i do not know what I am doing wrong

I have highlighted A and B bank in group 1 then pressed enter but it on scans bank A i must be missing something.

I never got into the menu to select which groups are included in a scan so my experience may not be the same as yours.

On my unit pressing scan once puts the receiver into memory read mode so turning the main dial lets me go through all the stored memories, through each bank in turn.

If I am receiving a channel on bank a, pressing scan again begins a scan on that bank. The same applies for bank b, in which case the scan would only be on bank b.

Apologies if this behaviour is different on your unit

To scan more than one bank, you need to link the banks together. Page 66 in the user manual.

You don't press a button, you go in to the menu and link them. It is not like a Uniden where you can press a number to turn on and off that bank.

You can hit the left and right arrow keys to select the different banks.

FUNC followed by SCAN gets you into the SCAN GROUP menu.
The Left and Right arrows let you select the group to be active.
Group "0" is set up for LINK OFF and groups 1-9 show BANK LINK where you can list the banks you want to link together in that group.

TBH this is all new to me too, I have never looked into this until now. Always been happy with the default Group 0, scanning only one bank at a time.
