AOR AR-8200 LCD

Hello,

I got old AR-8200 scanner.

It is powering on, and sounds and lights etc are working. But LCD shows nothing.
I opened radio, and checked wires and solderings, but did not find anything...

Any ideas? LCD dead? something else?

I had to replace the LCD on mine, quite a few of the segments would not show, making the numbers/characters hard to read.
Replacing the LCD on its own is virtually impossible, due to the way it is bonded to the PCB. I bought the complete microprocessor/LCD assembly from AOR. It cost around $240 Australian a few years ago.
There was no alignment or tuning necessary, just plug the new board in and it works. However, all of your saved channels/frequencies will be gone.
