Hello, I'm in NJ but my cousin is in Clark County and he is interested in buying a scanner.

I looked through the database and didn't find and trunked system in Clark except for the statewide system.

Can anyone tell me if there are, or will be soon, any APCO-25 and/or encrypted systems in Clark County?

Are there any talkgroups on the state system that are APCO or encrypted?

Thanks,
Joe

Nope...It will be a long time before SAFE-T unrolls to that part of the state. Especially with the state depending soley on grants to fund the system, as that part of the state isn't even funded yet. The closest SAFE-T tower is in Jefferson County.

The closest TRS you are going to find will be Floyd Counties LTR system. All talkgroups on SAFE-T so far are in the clear. Hope this helps :)

Yes it does help. Thanks.

Will he need a TRS-capable scanner if he wants to tune into Louisville City emergency services?

Nope, not yet. They are still conventional. They are, however, wanting to build a new system. All we know at this time is that is will probally be in '07 and it will be called "MetroSafe"
