• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I am looking for a solid person to purchase a radio from. Looking for an APX 6000XE UHF R2 either model 2 or 3. Anyone know of a good reputable person to purchase from that may have the radio in stock ready to ship? Tia.

Sunny Communications a.k.a. Used-Radios.com. Talk to Ben Lowry, great deals and has done me right for a decade now. Have purchased everything from HT-750's to Harris XG-100P, and lots of Motorola Trbo gear from them. Lot's of refurbished, new old stock, and repaired radios, mostly Motorola, but others as well. They often have more than what is on their website though, give them a call for P25 FDMa and/or TDMA gear, as deals can be had. I managed to get a XPR7550e for a third of the new cost and it was in stock, where Motorola still has yet to ship many of mine ordered six months ago. SunnyComm has stock to sell at reasonable prices. (+1 on Wiscomm as well, bought some Entitlement ID's for Motorola radios from them too).

Another vote for Sunny. I have dealt with Zack in the past. And don‘t be afraid to bargain for a better price on a used radio. They get them cheap, & there’s a lot of space to negotiate.

Good point on the negotiation part. I bought roughly 50 CDM-1250's for a special project, and since I could not get all 45W UHF 2 versions (I was willing to accept 25-watt versions since they had them), I was able to get a considerable price drop for the entire lot.

I've had a very good experience in dealing with North Georgia Comms. They were quick and easy to deal with, especially buying the wideband enhancement for my XPR7550E.
