Is there any software available for the AR8000? I picked one up in a radio swap and still learning how to use this.

How available these are today I'm not sure. Bear in mind the AOR 8000 is now around 24 years old.

There are some software programs that are freely available online; as well as a few you have to pay for - however, you will still need to buy the CU8232.

I have actually written my own software to program as well as do numerous other actions to the AOR 8000 but this will require you to open up the unit and fit a socket to the side of the receiver. I made a video on how I did this. Watch the video here ...

Why? ARC8200 is designed for the 8200 series handhelds NOT for the the AR8000 which the OP was asking about.

Perhaps if the OP contacted Gommert and asked very nicely there is a dusty copy of ARC8000 lying around as the foundation of the later stuff.
