Arc 500 basic vs pro

I am new to programming a scanner i recently had a home patrol which is self programming. I purchased a pro 106 used and im not sure if the arc basic is good enough for me or i need the pro version.

ARC500basic is the programming software, ARC500PRO also includes virtual control with logging/recording etc. You can always upgrade from basic to pro.
