Problem: When pressing the Find button in the Find/Replace Data window, ARC536 throws an error and crashes. Find window will not appear on restart. Find window will only reappear after ARC536 is exited cleanly by the user and restarted a second time.
Platform: Windows 7 Home Professional SP1
Butel Product: ARC536PRO v2.2 build 11
Scanner: Uniden SDS200
Expected Behavior: Upon pressing the Find button in the Find/Replace Data window, I expected to be presented with a list of the entries in the Favorites Browser matching the find term entered in the Find/Replace Data window.
Observed Behavior: Upon pressing the Find button in the Find/Replace window, ARC536 first displays an error window titled "ARC_536" and then crashes once the user acknowledges the error by clicking OK. The content of the error window is "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method" above an OK button.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Launch ARC536
2) Read favorite(s) from scanner
3) Select one of the top level entries in the Favorites Browser
4) Press Ctrl-F to open the Find/Replace Data window
5) Enter a search term in the Find field
6) Press the Find button in the Find/Replace Data window
7) Observe the error popup then click it's OK button
8) Observe that ARC536 has crashed
9) Repeat steps 1-4 and observe that the Find/Replace Data window will not appear by pressing the hotkeys or by selecting it from the Edit menu.
10) Quit ARC536
11) Repeat steps 1-4 and observe that the Find/Replace Data window now appears on demand.
12) Rinse and repeat as desired
Please let me know if you want any logs and where to find them if you do.
I'm available for beta testing. I can break pretty much anything, but I'm murder on software.
Cheers!
