Thanks for info. I'm going to ask AOR here near me if they can do this mod, which I have read about, on the 10.7 Mhz IF.

Regarding this mod, there is some documentation out there somewhere that indicates that doing so may result in increased spurious signals. It's been years but I had the mod done on one I owned and it was a caveat. I used mine with a spectrum display unit as I recall.

I spoke with Taka at AOR today. He advised me about the mod but also the caveat. I think I'll leave this unit alone, focus on the AR-DV1 (hoping that firmware updates will resolve issues), and otherwise just use good old DSD+ for the time being. Thanks for responses to my question.
