Hello, it appears that the ATF frequencies in my area are in the 160.000 MHz and 170/ 000 MHz range and at first I thought were scannable with a Ham Radio . I have never herd any thing on the frequencies that I got here on RR . I have since noticed that they are a P25 system so I guess that rules them out as far as being able to scann them and hear something ????

As for Scanning and hearing. If you have a P25 Scanner, Yup. :D
As for ENC, YMMV, can't listen unless you try

Hello and TNX for the information . In this case I had programed them in a duel band mobil ham radio.
(2Meter and 440MHz). I dont believe that will pick them up.
Its just a FM analog rig. I believe its just taking up some space in the rig , but I wanted to be sure before I remove them.
I have never herd any thing on these frequencies , and they are the ones listed here. I thought I would try any way.
TNX again

ATF is nearly all P25, and largely encrypted. You won't hear anything ATF on an analog-only radio. Sorry mate.

ive been doing some research on SDR and it seems there are quite a few programs that can decode P25 systems. now when i say decode i do not mean un-encrypt. just decode the digital packets to convert to images or voice transmissions. pretty neat stuff and it can be done with a very small investment.

TNX necromonster., I had entered several frequencies in an anolog radio and a Digital scanner I have .
just removed them from the radio . They had been in there for over a year and I never herd any thing on the frequencies. As far as the Scanner goes the jury is still out on it.
TNX and have a great evening.

Put the list from this site in a P25 scanner and let it run. Eventually you will hear something. If you are out of range of a repeater on Net 1 165.2875 they will show up on one of the simplex channels. Usually it's TAC-1 or TAC-2.
