An interesting article this month in the Atlantic Monthly, with an inside view of the Secret Service. Talks about radios a fair bit, including the fact that for the UN General Assembly they had "thousands" of radios, plus the fact that they guard them as closely as their guns as if one goes missing it means changing all the encryption keys. Considering that I have seen in the past over 2K radios auctioned off by WHCA an SS, that is quite a few radios to maintain.
