ATS-25 max-DECODER SI4732

I've ordered SI4732 ATS-25 max-DECODER from Amazon to be delivered May 2nd. My question is what happens and what do I need to do the first time turning on the power? I downloaded the manual with all the screenshots showing what the buttons do, but there isn't any information about what needs to be done on initial start up/setup. I've watched a few you tube videos, one from OM0ET was pretty concise. Am I overthinking this? Any thoughts appreciated!

Yes. Follow the on-screen prompts. Set up Wi-Fi (optional) etc. Read my post on my time the unit before I returned it. I think it had to be on Wi-Fi for decoding. (So the time/date is automatically set.)

I hope you got the ATS MAX Decoder II model. I think they're about the same price.

It's not be the Decoder II model. I know the firmware is 4.17 and can be updated to 4.20 If I do the update would that give me FT8 decoding? It hasn't shipped yet. Would there be a big enough difference in the II to cancel the order and get the II?

The Decoder II looks to be cheaper on Amazon. I think it has some improved H/W but it looks like they've upgraded the earlier model to similar specs.

You should always be on the latest software version.
