ATS909X firmware issues

Whistler isn't the only one having headaches with firmware updates - Sangean's update for the ATS909X evidently has some bugs with causing thermal drift, which is most noticeable when doing any exalted SSB work.

Interesting article. Except I'm pretty sure the DSP chip is for FM only. Any changes in selectivity on SW and MW would be due to changes in the ceramic filters, unless Sangean completely modified the entire SW/MW circuits (doubtful, but possible). Any firmware changes would be to the microprocessor only, the DSP chip in the 909X replaces the FM Front End chip that was used in the 909.

I hope Sangean can work the bugs out. Perhaps one of these 909X owners can email Sangean about the issue and see what they say. They seem to respond to questions from Sangean owners decently.
