audiodave-- How did you run all those cables to your post? How far is your post to the antenna's?

Top notch install. Looks like you enjoy your hobby. Nice and clean. Great work is all I can say. On the grounding items. Do you have some pictures of that set-up. Sounds interesting.

Great!!!

Hi Dave,

Fantastic as usual. I have always like that desk, so organized and so much space for radios. I just saw one today at costco and remember it from your last post.

I would like to know more about what your doing with the modification of the rotor controllers.

Good job Dave

Hello,
Coax all goes up and inside the wall behind the patch bay, to the attic. Total lengths of cable for the outdoor antennas is about 50'.

As for the grounding, Most of it is well hidden (indoors and out) but when i get back I could snap a couple picsof the bundles of cables (held on the back of the desk with conduit clamps. 2.5" ones) Not really pretty but it gets spousal approval since little can be seen from the front.

Super nice setup man!

How does that cut down discone for milair work? I was thinking about doing that exact thing today.

It does not provide any better reception over the VHF one on the roof but is no worse either despite being indoors.

I did it for ease of mounting and to keep it out of the way.

I cut mine down yesterday (13" diameter top and 18" bottom radials). It seems to work really well for milair so far. I think the regular Uhf 450-460 stuff seems to come in a bit better.

Thank you!
It has a pretty high Wife Acceptance Factor...but it had to since we share an office.

Before we added to the family (and she had her own office) it was just as functional but not quite as neat.
