A few days ago I noticed that Augusta Technical College now has a police department(?). I noticed "Augusta Tech Police" emblazoned in on the side of a newer model Dodge Charger complete with light bar, etc., but no radio antenna(s). I don't know how long they've been on the campus, how many officers, staff, or cars they have either.
In the past, the Richmond County S.O. deputies have worked there on "specials" for campus security. Anyone have an idea if they're on the Palmetto 800 system and, if so, what call signs they're using? Common sense tells me that they would be on Pal 800 for interoperability. I scan, and listen, for different call signs but haven't heard anything new.
