Aurora 2nd Alarm | 5280FIRE
07/01 ~ At 22:50 Aurora Firefighters were dispatched to multiple reports of a structure fire at 9937 East Louisiana Drive. First arriving Engine 11 found heavy flames showing from the second & third floor and transmitted a 2nd Alarm. A transitional attack was used to quickly knock down the initial flames. Aurora Police Officers reported a possible party trapped on the 2nd floor. Aggressive interior attack and primary searches began and Engine 4 reported the floor burned through on floor 3, prompting a withdraw. Heavy fire in the attic began spreading laterally, fueled by high winds. A defensive attack was ordered, two aerial master streams, one deck gun and multiple hand lines were used to control the flames. After the fire was darkened down, crews again made entry and finished up with overhaul and hitting hot spots. All searches proved negative, no injuries were reported and investigators were on scene interviewing residents. All occupants of the building were displaced and the Red Cross was requested to assist them.
