I've heard reports that this system now has 24 LCN's?

Does anyone have the latest channel lineup?

I have a complete list of all of the first 20 lcn's for Aurora's new system from the ScanColo group. I just sent an e-mail to the person who posted them to "ask permission" to share the information. As soon as I hear back from the guy, I will let you all know.

Aurora Update

Today there seems to be a lot more "Routine" use of the system + a lot of reading-verifying LID's Most police functions cannot be heard. Sometimes dispatch can be heard but no replies. Fire dispatch seems to be mostly clear analog, as is other city services.

It seems to be much stronger here than the old moto system was.

(Using a 785D)

I was under the impression that ProVoice couldn't be monitored, that there wasn't a scanner on the market now that could do it. Is there a different version, maybe, that can't be monitored? I see that the 785D is being used. I currently have a 780XLT and want to upgrade, but need to know what will work with Aurora's new system.
Thanks!

Right now nothing will work to hear the Digital groups; all you can hear are the analog groups.

Also, they are still working on simulcast issues; heard nothing about 4 more LCN's. More radios are switched out every day.

If you were to buy a provoice radio such as the jaguar 700P, LPE-200, or the P7100IP, can you monitor their communications then? I know this works with denver, who are still on edacs because I have 3 radios progammed all to their frequencies, but will this work with Aurora? Also, does anyone know the PL/DPL codes for them so if I do program to their frequencies on a provoice, I won't hear squelch? Thanks

They don't use any PL/DPL on Edacs. The radios you mentioned would have to have the ProVoice option; some of them don't--that costs about $700 to have added to a radio. Also you must know the talkgroups to program in, they don't just scan all the talkgroups. Also the 7100 I think needs the newest programming software.

Also the Radios Aurora bought may have the ESK option that could be turned on at any time, but I don't think so. Everyone but the Police & fire have cheaper non ProVoice radios.

Denver is using a few ProVoice groups already, so as the money is spent for new radios, look for more ProVoice there.

Unfortunately, a number of metro area PD's use EDACS and I have this feeling we'll be seeing a lot more Pro-Voice in the future. That is, of course, assuming these agencies are happy with MA/COM and choose to stay with them. I guess we'll see what happens.

Denver does not have the funds to go provoice right at the moment according to their radio shop personnel. However, when DPD changed out the mpa radios here about 6 months ago, the portables given to the officers are capable to do provoice, however, then had not been flashed with the required upgrade to do provoice yes.

Remember, aurora, lakewood, arvada and westy all now have at least denvers system programmed into their radios. So, if you see a provoice tg on the denver system, it may very well be an aurora unit that is across town and not able to access the aurora system and has switched over to denver's system and is accessing the aurora system thru denvers. Apparently they are not able to do this at least between denver and aurora....

Just a thought.

In a way you are right the 700P they have just need to be flashed as to the mobles 500M they won;t do Provoice also the system up om the hill does not have Provoice there was talk about it maybe in 2 to 3 years but again it depends on the funds I know every one down at the EEB shop past and present. I have also now heard Aurora has droped the Provoice at least for now any one know the ID's?

Your right, I forgot to mention that the mobiles will not do provoice. But the repeaters will carry provoice tg's.

As for Aurora. I am listening to them right now and the pd is still provoice on the mobile side and tac 2 of the fire side is total analog with the rest of fire still being provoice on the mobile side.

Hmmmm

I was told by a very good friend over there that as of last week they turned off the provoice in fact I know a surctiy company that brought some new scanners from radioshack and can hear both sides. Also check your PM????

The ONLY public safety talk groups that are full analog are AFD TAC-2 and AFD TAC-3. All other AFD talk groups are dispatch only in analog.

All police talk groups are dispatch only in analog. All units in the field are pro-voice digital.

Both FERN and CLEER mutual aid conventional are patched in full analog.

All public works talk groups are full analog.

Fortunately no signs of ESK for this system.

Ok. So what you are saying is that Aurora Fire is not on Provoice? I think that they are, but, what would be the best radio to buy if I were to buy a provoice to monitor their communications? Thanks again

The fire dispatch groups and some of the fire TAC groups are analog, as are most other city functions. Most police talkgroups are ProVoice.

Probably the cheapest radio to get would be a LPE200 or Jaguar700p that has the ProVoice option; since they have been around for awhile.
(IMHO) The other problem is that any real Ma/Com radio only will scan what is programmed; so if you are not aware of the talkgroups=SOL

Also you must be able to get it programmed.

If this is not satisfactory, you can always go to Rite aid and buy a case of Corona for a lot less money
