You are correct. The Squads in Aurora are:
Squad 3 (Peoria and Smith)
Squad 11 (Iliff and Havana)
Squad 12 (I-70 and Tower)
Squad 13 (Smoky Hill and Aurora Pkwy)
All of these rigs do carry R.I.C packs as well as a full set of extrication equipment. The reason that these were developed are because of the prolonged response times for a truck company, which also carry the same equipment, when an immediate intervention is needed on a scene. If you read the NFPA guidelines on a "squad" and the equipment that is carried on it, that should answer your questions a little bit better.
Now of coarse they also have the "Rescue" now. This truck is called a "light rescue" in apparatus terms and is NOT a brush truck. It carries no water, but it does carry a full compliment of ALS equipment and is designed to be the first on-scene truck in that district, while Engine 13 responds as well. Rescue 14 only carries two people, a Lieutenant and a Paramedic. Engine 13 responds as well because of the additional manpower. Station 14 is located at E-470 and Gartrell Rd. roughly.
