Does anyone know if the Baltimore light rail and metro trains use radios? I can't find any frequency lists for them.

What frequencies do the Amtrak and Marc train use in the Baltimore / Penn Station area?

Just wondering. I might go to the Timonium hamfests next year.

I know a road frequency of 160.920 MHz. Amtrak uses 160.35 and 160.290 in the Washington, D.C. area.

Acorfding to my 2002 edition of police call

Light rail:

161.010
161.565

Metro Subway:

160.395 (Ch1)
161.475 (Ch2)
161.085 (Ch3)
161.565 (Ch4)
160.905 (Ch5)
161.010 (Ch6)

Note that some of the Subway freqs are the same as the lightrail freqs. I can't vouch for accuracy, just got it out of the book.

Set the scanner to search between 160-162 mHz. That is generally where rail traffic is.

The trunked system that Eric mentioned above is where you want to go. I keep those freqs programmed just in conventional mode since I don't want to use up a bank for them. They can get interesting with all the nonsense that happens on the trains and buses. They seem to use very strong transmitter signals so they should be able to be copied over long distances.
