Baofeng DM-1701 codeplug Open DG77 sample needed

I live in Madisonville Ky (western) and recently purchased a cheap DM-1701 to try on DMR.
Firmware is upgraded to OpenGD77 and I am using the OpenGD77 CPS to read and write (successfully).
All analog channels work fine.
However, as a lot of newbies experience, I am having trouble making a DMR channel connect. (not trying to use a hotspot)
I don't have a degree in rocket Science/chemistry/dentistry LOL...
I travel for my job, close to around 35 counties in Central/western Ky and recently made a trip to Frankfort for a meeting and installed all the DMR repeaters between here and there to try along the route with NO success.
I basically drive everything west of Rough River Dam straight down to Glasgow all the way to the Mississippi river.
My question is... Would someone be willing to lookup some of the local repeater details and shoot me a sample codeplug to compare to what I have done to see what I have done wrong???
Not an abundance of live DMR repeaters around but at least I could get a couple that is confirmed (on your end) working and test it on my radio when I am in that particular area where the repeater is located. (I never know when I am going to be there. I am a network support specialist contractor that responds to network outages as they happen).

I would greatly appreciate it if I could have someone do this.

I dont have a CP for you, but I wonder how you judge success? No contacts, constant bonks, no info on a lastheard list, etc. How do you think you failed? It might be a case of.....no one was listening to the TG.

Toss up your cp when you get a chance, and after the holidays slow down, I'll look at it

Well, that is part of the problem... I don't know what to expect.
is it supposed to react like an analog repeater and beep back when you key or identify itself in some way, seems like my transmit lit just flashes a short red burst and the TOT on screen starts timing. Dead silence... No "last heard" list in the menu.

The "lastheard" would be a webpage listing all traffic that made it to the internet, if the repeater is 'net connected.

If your TOT is clicking by, that sounds like a successful repeater handshake, but could also be the sign of improper programming.

The TOT is just counting up on the screen. It is a handheld unit used while mobile so I can't see the last heard webpage.
The repeater directories do show them as active and verified lately though. I tried 2 different ones in Etown, one in Lawrenceburg and nothing.. Honestly, I am 99 percent sure it is rookie user error...

OOps.. the TOT is setting there at ZERO on the display and the transmit indicator LED is just flashing RED on DMR channels.. sorry

DMR repeaters won't transmit anything after your transmission.

With DMR your radio and repeater go through a handshake before you are allowed to transmit. If your out range you should get a bonk sound and won't be able to transmit.

You may on fringes if the repeater and not have a great signal into the repeater, since think you are using the HT inside the vehicle.

First I would recommend trying the Parrott talkgroup that repeats what you transmit and allows you to check your signal.

You can also try some different talkgroups like your statewide talkgroup or one of the more local ones, as many hams hang out on these.

I'm going to play with it more when I can get to one of the cities that has a working repeater.
we don't have one here that I believe is working. One is listed on one repeater site about 10 miles from me but I think that was old info because the newer listings don't show it.
And of course, I am in a local club that nobody wants to try to help or they just don't know much about it either. I posed on their FB page and no one will comment on it. I was hoping someone at the club would work with me there but no joy..
Thanks for that info above. Helps me understand it more. I've watched every YouTube video I can find and they still talk over my head.
I'm kinda in the Bermuda triangle here where I live. Several analog repeaters but no DMR that I know. (within transmit distance from me)
