Question for anyone who monitors Barnstable County regularly. I was going through some recordings from 2019. There was a message about Capt. Kenney, may God rest his soul. Can someone explain the chirping sounds.

Believe that is the quick call feature. The Barnstable county Control is run by the sheriffs Office. Maybe the dispatcher was talking on more than one Talkgroup and a patch was running.

Those are keying tones that are sent from the dispatch console to the transmitting radio to tell it to key up. Normally, the transmitting radio will filter these tones out so that they don't go over the air.

Thank you for the replies. I forgot to mention this was on low band so maybe that is why the tones are not filtered out?
