So you dont think I need to enter the rebanding setting in order to recieve BART? Just download the system from RR? What about "Control Channel Only"... should that be set to on or off? Thanks

I just did a straight download of everything and it worked for me.
All sites, freq's & talk groups.

I suggest you try it to see it that will work for you.

I've re-downloaded the BART freq from RR into both the Uniden & Radio Shack scanners. I have them both scanning only BART and not a peep so far...

All I know is that the unmodified Monday eve download works for me.

Listening to BART now on the 396T for a trip to SF tomorrow.

I have tried for quite some time now to get the BART system programmed into my Uniden 996XT & RS Pro-160 (using ARCXT-Pro and ARC-160). I've downloaded the system information from here (RR). I've set the rebanding information (based on what info I've found here) on both scanners. I've also tried setting the "Control Channel Only" to both on and off. I still can't hear anything. I am pretty close to the Millbrae BART station, so I should hear something. I can only imagine I have set/done something wrong.

Rebanding information tables and control channel only mode both apply to Motorola trunking systems, and are irrelevant in this case

BART is on an EDACS trunking system, which is programmed a completely different way in scanners. Specifically, all the system frequencies must be entered in their Logical Channel Number (LCN) order. I guarantee that if you download the PDF manuals for your scanners and search for "EDACS" within the document and follow the directions, you will be able to ensure the system is programmed correctly.

The BART system also uses highly directional antennas, and you may be out of range and unable to hear it (even if it seems like you should be close enough). Right now the EDACS trunking control channel is on LCN 01 - 866.075 MHz (it also uses LCN 10 - 868.6875). If you manually tune both these frequencies with the squelch down and hear a digital control channel noise, you are in range and should be able to receive the system. If you hear nothing but static, you are out of range and it won't work regardless of whether or not it's programmed correctly.

I can second that, when I go to the bay area sometimes I take my scanner and my relative lives about 2 miles or so from the L Line tracks. It is very important that with EDACS systems that the channels are loaded in order on the scanner, if not they will not work at all

With EDACS what do you mean "the channels are loaded in order on the scanner"? in order of frequency (low to high) ?

In the RR database the BART frequencies are listed by their LCN (Logical Channel Number) For Example: 01 866.07500 | 02 866.72500 | 03 866.88750 etc. There are 10 frequencies and they need to be input in the scanner in the order they are listed fro 01-10

You're welcome, it is pretty much the same procedure to load LTR systems into a scanner. Moto systems are a little bit more flexable on how the frequencies are entered.
