This is getting litte off topic now

So why haven't you fixed the RadarBox database then. The user shouldn't have to worry about going back and edit the information. Since the correct information should be sent from the AirNav RadarBox Database Server! Just like all the ICAO codes. Most of them will says "..." in the data field. Have you fixed it yet ? No. Because you been looking into it for months now of per that topic, and haven't updated the radarbox users if it was fixed yet.

Topic: Populating Untitled

Topic: Type codes in the database
http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=2673

Just like the AirNav ShipTrax product. You website says it be release in 2008. and people are still waiting.

Sorry for the off topic post on this SBS thread!

AirNav Systems CEO/Dirkou,
is he working for RadarBox competitors? Don't know...

I work for AirNav Systems and...

For those who don't know it it is well known user "MtnBiker2005" spends his time saying bad things about RadarBox everywhere on the internet. He even created a blog to do that...is he working for RadarBox competitors? Don't know...

Actually MtnBiker2005 has provided you some extra sales. I purchased my RadarBox after seeing his log reports and decided it was worth having one for myself.

Anyway back to the topic, I also decided to go with the AirNav RadarBox since it was cheaper. I paid about $500 shipped, where the SBS was about $700 at the time.

For a comparison between SBS and RB here is a screenshot I took a few weeks ago of the map in the AirNav program.

Both of these programs are great additions to any monitoring station. It's fun to watch for interesting government/military aircraft and know exactly when its time to turn on the scanner.

I hate to see this kind of negativity breaking out between different companies and the public, because nothing good can come from it. This business is very small and has an extremely narrow niche. I doubt anybody is getting rich off the radio monitoring business. I know I'm sure not. There's only so many people into this stuff, and the business really can't afford to have all kinds of in-fighting going on, because it can't survive it. The public needs to be patient and understand that there is only so much room for profit in these things. Most companies don't even bother with this stuff. This is not like Sony or Microsoft, where somebody puts out a bad review or makes a critique and they just brush it off like it's no big deal. To them it isn't a big deal, because they're moving hundreds of millions of dollars of stuff every year. But over exuberant criticism in this business could easy kill companies off altogether. So I think the companies need to be respectful and do the best they can when dealing with the public, but so too do the customers... as they can't expect people to kill themselves to the point where they're out of business. Because eventually they're just going to say... The heck with this... I'll go make stuff for Boeing and L-3 and charge 10 times more for it, with a lot less grief. Especially in a niche this small, these are actual people involved in this stuff... People with bills like everybody else... Not giant faceless corporations that just ask for a fed handout and go home to their estates... This is why people making stuff in this biz might be a little defensive, because they feel like they're doing the best they can, but it's never enough for some people. Everybody is just trying to scrape together a living like any other person. So everybody needs to work together in this field and try to cooperate... Not be at each other throats. Everybody will lose if that happens.

Uniden America Corporation staff(s) & Software programmers reaches out to it's users outside of their website. They provide support to their users on community forums and user groups.
No one knows everything about all the companies out there. So How can you make that statement.

I would think most products out in the world. The suggestions came from users of the product.

Where AirNav Systems company only provides support on their owned website. (I know it's their Choice)
Where they wont give support on RadarSpotters.eu / other community forum. Under a support user name everyone knows.

Right now Uniden(USA) has better customers service then AirNav Systems for it's RadarBox product or AirNav ShipTrax press information on it's release.

It's always nice to see someone officially (and erroneously!) slam one of their customers in a public forum! :(

I like my RadarBox, but I don't like you.

Unfortunately we tried to be helpful and clear some wrong information passed.

We have over 3000 users now and it is strange why only 5 (MtnBiker2005 is one of them) keeps posting erroneous, false and negative information regarding RadarBox everywhere on the internet, on an almost daily basis. We don't know why he does it but it's up to him. Of course 1 of the 2 topics mentioned above were created by...MtBiker2005...

You might want to double check your facts again. I didn't start any topics on the links you talked about.... So where are you getting your facts from..... You might want to re read your forum topics again!

Seems like your first posts on this forum you want to start trouble here. Why don't you join in, and provide other information too! Not just a sale pitch only about your product.
Seems like you going to hit the forum and run away after this month. You just joined today, and first post you(CEO of AirNav Systems) are here slamming your customers on the public forum.

You might want to go back to your forum, and find a way to release the AirNav ShipTrax product this year.

That isn't true.
Some User try emailing AirNav Systems. Then never hear from you Andre B.

You are repeating yourself again. Everyone knows you are open to suggestions for your products. Most companies are these days!

FOR THE RECORD About AirNav Systems Vs. RadarSpotters.eu

The website owner of the RadarSpotters.eu Community Forum asked me to post this information. Since he is not a member of this forum.
So all can read his side of the story VS. ( Dirkou - CEO AirNav Systems side.

You can read his post about it here.
http://radarspotters.eu/forum/index.php/topic,696.0.html

Hamish McTorsk - Administrator ( RadarSpotters.eu Forum )
FOR THE RECORD
Early in 2009 I purchased an AirNav Radarbox and naturally I became a member of their forum.
I was and still am happy with my box but I became alarmed with the attitude of the AirNav Systems support staff.
The way they treated their customers online was for me beyond belief, banning customers from the forum
depriving them of support for a very expensive product is hardly the way to conduct buisness.

So I decided to start this forum in March 2009 as an independent platform for users of both systems.
AirNav claim that Radarspotters is, "totally run by SBS-1 users" and is associated with Kinetic Avionics and ML&S, this is not the case.
This forum is not and never has been anti Airnav, they have been making posts on other forums on the
net stating that we are not independent.

Airnav, who would love to see this forum disappear, have only themselves to blame for its birth, had they
treated their customers with more respect this site would never have been born.

Hamish

AirNav Systems company has AirNav RadarBox & AirNav ShipTrax products.

MtnBiker2005: what you mention is of course totally false and we don't understand your objectives in doing this. That user is not banned from our forum.

All the users feel free to visit our online forum with now over 2000 users and with more than 100 daily posts from RadarBox customers all over the world.

Adding o the above everyone on our Virtual RadarRadar community known that the radarspotters forum is not independent: some users there post negative messages about AirNav and don't even have a RadarBox! ( perhaps that explains it...:) )

I've heard (and seen reported) that AirNav RadarBox customers get banned from the AirNav Forum if they post complaints about the RadarBox and then their posts get deleted.

Radarspotters is an independent forum. Two thirds of the members are SBS-1 users yet the majority of the posts concern RadarBox. Is that because Kinetic allows its users to complain without fear of being banned or are there, proportionally, more unhappy RadarBox users?

AirNav is hell bent on stifling any mention of its competitor product or adverse comments.

Remember readers, Dirkou started this petty debate on here.

Hamish Didn't say he was banned. Why did you bring that up then ?

Every forum has many posts. and people get banned too. You don't have to give stats out.

Looks like you banned Deadcalm (RadarBox user) at one time.
And play the banned game with him. Ban him.... Unbanned him.. etc...

Deadcalm,
As you are all no doubt aware, I'm banned from the Airnav forum, partly because I had the temerity to tell them that their software was "flaky", and their network "problematic" (which it still is, if reports of downtime on their forum are to be believed).

Airnav network, disadvantages of not resubscribing.
Airnav outcast

abrad41,
As I am now one of the banned people on the Airnav site,

Help Please

Shows him banned at one time from the AirNav forum on this old banned screenshot.

That is totally false. On over 2000 users only 5 are now permanently banned for posting false information on AirNav Systems forum. Actually if you visit our forum you will see many complaints and suggestions for future updates. Just have a look at AirNav Systems Forum - Index

Radarspotters has a permanent H24 banner for Kinetic Avionics. AirNav Systems contacted the forum owner which later refused to run a paid AirNav Systems advertisement on RadarSpotters.

Radarspotters is not an independent forum - it is owned and maintained by customers somehow associated with Kinetic Avionics that found a way to promote SBS-1 outside the Kinetic forum.

MOST IMPORTANT: Taking things on-topic again (this topic focuses on Basestation SBS-1 software: Kinetic Avionics CEO announced, in February, a new version of the Basestation software.

SBS Forum :: View topic - Whats this then
"it comes with a new version of lovely Basestation"

A few months later SBS-1er has been released without a new Basestation.
What's your opinion on this? Actually Basestation did not have a relevant update for the last 3 years and THIS IS NOT commented on the Radarspotters forum. Let's do a trick: post a message on the Kinetic forum regarding this right now to see if the thread is removed.

(talking about the RadarSpotters forum, this was discussed there today and the topic was quietly moved to a different board so less users read it).

AirNav keeps rolling out the same false accusations and never provides any irrefutable evidence to back them up.

It is getting tiresome. From what I can see the banner is there because Kinetic has sponsored the Summer Competition.

There's two sides to every story but as always AirNav just wants us to hear it's side, usually laced with gloss and fabrication.

I think the Mods should lock this thread as it can't be of much interest.

AirNav Systems offered to sponsor a competition too and that was DENIED by the the RadarSpotters moderator. Ask him right now if he is interested in running a competition for RadarBox and replace the Kinetic banner there and let's wait for the response.

And please don't ask to lock this topic because is is getting inconvenient to you.

To keep on-topic again we are still waiting for your comment on the below message:

Did you check your June stats yet....

Looks like some days. The forum is getting under 100 daily posts. Check your forum stats again. On some days you only get around 50 - or + posts.

MtnBiker: false again. In June we got 2965 posts which divided by 30 means 98.83 posts per day.
BTW: what's the point of this?

Let's turn on-topic again!!! This topic is about Basestation software provided by Kinetic Avionics.
