I need a replacement battery pack for a Pro-106 (black or yellow). The radio shack stores in my area have closed. Does anyone know any mail order locations selling this item?

Best place would be to try and find them on ebay

You will save some money getting them from Whistler.

But their shipping rates are "totally absurd" too.

Actually the priority mail price they have listed is the price it would cost for a small flat rate box. So that is an accurate price, but they should really be shipping these first class mail for about $1.50 lol. Still cheaper than ebay, I didn't realize whistler sold these, so I'm glad I saw this thread just in case I want a rechargeable holder.

Decided I want to try charging the batteries while in the scanner. I have the black holder, not the yellow and I'm too cheap to purchase one. After viewing photos of the holders on Whilstler's, I realized connecting/shorting/wiring the two contacts on the left would let me charge using the black holder. I tried soldering to the contacts - don't know what they used, but it sure don't take to solder. Went the adhesive copper foil route and can now charge with the black holder.

Just ordered 2 black battery packs. Very reasonable price for each and shipping charge covered both units unlike some other vendors who charge shipping, handling, etc., etc. and the price exceeds the cost of the item. Thanks to all who responded.

Would aluminum tape/ aluminum foil work just as well? Or is it's resistance too high compared to the copper
