I'm not sure that this is the correct forum, but I didn't see anything on any other forums that would help.

Baylor Scott and White has updated and expanded their NXDN trunk system and I want to program it in. Mostly because I'm bored.
I haven't programmed a NXDN system in over two years, but when I did the Channel ID had to be programmed into the scanner. I'm using Pro Scan and a SDS100 and downloaded the information from the RRDB.

This is the system,

Everything is correct frequencies, RANs, and so on. Except that the channel numbers aren't programmed in. It seems that the format for the channel numbers has changed and I think I read somewhere on the RR forums that NXDN has changed so that channel numbers don't have to be entered and are assigned by the controller.

Is that correct, or do I have to manually enter the channel numbers?

Thanks.

I am one of the people that discovered that system (and a recent trip to Austin helped fill in a lot of those blanks).

Baylor Scott and White uses Dynamic Addressing (I've only seen this enabled on a few systems, so it's not common at least yet), and thus the channel assignments are sent over the air similar to P25 systems. The channel assignments are in the 17000-20000 range, which is outside of the range supported by the SDS100/SDS200.

To make it work on the SDS scanners, leave the LCN at 0 for all channels, the scanner will pick up the right frequencies automatically.

Thanks! I've got it programmed in that way, but I'm not picking up any of the sites. Maybe the power is very low, but I should be getting Taylor, Pflugerville, and probably Round Rock. Lakeway and Oak Hill are a bit of stretch.

I'll keep playing around and see if I can figure out what's going on.

It varies site to site, but generally it reaches an area of 5-10 miles around the hospital (many of the maintenance staff also support the clinics and urgent care centers, so having radio coverage beyond the hospital is a plus). I didn't test coverage, but Pflugerville was pegging the receivers when I was parked at the H-E-B across the street. As I was driving to Taylor I had to be a lot closer (a couple of miles) before my gear picked it up and started decoding.

So far I haven't had much luck with my SDS100. I'm about 9 miles west of Taylor and about 3 or so from the Pflugerville facility. Maybe I'll plug it into my SDS 200 and see if it's better mobile. I can also see what I get with DSDPlus at my house.

I'm more curious than anything else.

I'm getting some hits on Pflugerville. Security 1 with UIDs. Numbers and also one with the user name. I forgot that NXDN allows Aliases.
