its called "Senior Moment" Nick
You missed the "s"
"Senior Moments" .....
As a side issue is that for me Uniden (and possibly other manufacturers) have really confused their users and markets.
The BC125AT I'm assuming was 1st on the block by Uniden USA/?. Then in Europe we get the UBC125XLT which is "EU market modified". Uniden USA will not answer question etc on the UBC125XLT and there is no apparent Uniden UK/EU manufacturer's website. Best you can get is an authorised distributor who in my epxerpience are devoid of decent technical information etc. Australia/Newzeland seem to be a little differnet though when I did try to ask about the UBC125XLT they were unable to help.
The stupid thing, IMHO, is the 125 and 126 scanners come from the same family/base stock. Yes they are different but they share the same DNA. Meanwhile each world region (who obviously picked up a "base DNA" deny all knowledge unless it is "tehir baby" and even then they seem to lack detailed technical info.
To further muddy the waters the Albrecht AE125H is a complete clone of the UBC125XLT but getting decent technical information is an unknown.
However with Alinco I've been able to communicate and get decent technical data etc. on all the specific range models and variations they sell world wide. I'm talking the DX-R8, DX-SR8 and DX-SR9 comms kit and full information for all world wide areas.
Why can't Uniden not do this? Why do they have to compartmenalise their support and in some areas have no support other than via an authorised dealer. MADNESS.
This is one reason I may never ever buy any Uniden kit in the future. You guys in the US may be better off/placed but here in the EU Uniden sucks. Many units are sold but sales is one factor but support, technical support, customer service is what really drives and supports brand loyalty and trust.
Next time I buy a scanner then I'll look at Alinco models, and others, and then *really* check out how that manufacturer supports their customers in their country of purchase.
WAKE UP UNIDEN!
