This radio is quite a gem, all things considered. Does anyone know just how accurate it actually decodes tone out codes? Secondly, how does one know if the decoded tone is on the mark or not? Is there an all inclusive database of page tones that can be used to identify the real tones form the decoded ones that may be off?

Many thanks for any replies.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8520/4.6.1.314 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

It is accurate enough to work. There are many things that affect the decode
Including distance from the tower trees buildings etc. Its good enough though

Yes it works. I am looking for ways to refine the accuracy of the decoded tones. For example, is there a chart of all actual tones that can be compared to the decoded ones? Too bad that the firmware was not refined to reject decodes that are not actual tones.

i find looking up the correct tone's to be a pita. i just put what i find into the scanner for decode. it's pleny accurate enough for me. no false trip's/missed trips so far.
