bc220xlt frequency mod?

hi all, i am a complete newbie at radio scanning, i,ve got a quick question regarding the above model the ubc 220xlt which is there are gaps within its scanning range is there anyway i can reinstate them or mod it to receive them frequencies that are missing. many thanks in advance. jon
