BC246T: Newbee EDACS

I’ve been trying to setup Trunking for a week now. I tapped my old BC890XLT and hooked it up to T4Win. Checked the FCC.gov (WPFF621) 856.3125, 859.3125, 860.3125 (there are two other sites that I get good reception on but they have five and six channels, I can monitor conventionally on my AR1500 or 246T by manually switching back and forth between the two voice channels on this site.) I have also purchased ARC246

First question: Wiki Reference shows a narrow and wide option for the EDACS, 9600 baud being wide which T4Win shows for the “Decoding rate 100.0 EDACS96”, but when in conventional mode on my AR1500 WFM has poor reception and messes up the Steps. In ARC246 the Virtual Control window shows the frequency at the bottom of screen, when the System Type is Narrow the frequency scans, when set to Wide is sits on the first frequency. Should my BC246T be set for Wide in System Type: ?

T4Win lists 860.3125 as the Control Channel with LCN3. I watched the other two LCNs and matched them to the frequency that had voice on my AR1500, 856.3125=LCN1, 859.3125=LCN2

Second question: How little information (System Type, Frequency, LCN) should I have to program to do ID Search and be able to hear talk? The RRDataBase already has good info on this system (Michigan, Consumers Energy) ie. Groups…

Holding on the Control Channel has sometime shown AFS TGs, but not predictably. I had some of these programmed on another System that was in Lockout. Shouldn’t the BC246T show something when Holding on the CC, when active T4Win shows Radio#, TGs, Site#, Individual, Analog, Phone …at least the queued LCN?

Update: Set EDACS to Wide, apparently has nothing to do with the Modulation.
I setup a System for just one Tower Site as stated in post 246T newbie question , this got things working.

Subsystems for each Tower Site would save copying Talk Group Alpha Tags to every system i.e. the info would only be put in the main system. The Alpha Tags Inputs must act like a lookup for the numbers received. There is lots of memory and copying is easy, just trying to cut clutter.

Still wish the scanner would share more info, mainly radio numbers along with TGs. I-calls do show radio numbers since there is no TG.

And about watching frequencies in ARC246, seem it only checks the Control Channel, if the CC is not found then is scans all frequencies entered in the system. And as for the predictably, I was comparing the info received on my BC890XLT, that has a magnet mount cellular antenna high in the window. I’ll be doing something for the BC246T soon.
