Does anyone know if I can use the audio straight out of the headset jack into a microphone port to decode? If not, is it possible to accomplish this with the interface cable for computer control?

AFAIK it wouldn't work with the computer interface cable; the data is not sent on the serial stream that Trunker and its cousins need. I seriously doubt it would work well - if at all - just with the audio out of the headphone jack. The reason is that the audio is massaged somewhat when it comes out of the amplifier - and causes data to be lost.

A discriminator tap takes the audio out before the amplifier. If you don't want to cut up your new radio, there are lots of older 800 mhz capable radios that aren't that hard to modify. 73s Mike

No, you can't.
