Uniden tech support just helped me program my scanner to recieve trunking. I am not sure if it is actually working though. Is the frequency supposed to change on the display when it is tracking a trunked call? How can you tell it is actually working right? I know it may seem obvoius , but on a heavily used trunked frequency to me it isn't.

I also have the Butel ARc250basic and can't get it to upload to the radio. Also can't figure out how to import files from the clipboard then to the radio. Also programming it for trunking.

Keep in mind I am a newby to scanners and I am still learning. Any help would be appriciated.

Your display should indicated as follows and my example is using bank 1 and a Motorola II system with Conventionals locked out.
ID SEARCH mode with no communications,
ID SEARCH
Current Control Channel Frequency NFM,
Bank 1---------
Nothing on line 4

ID SEARCH mode with communication,
M ID:XXXXX (M=Motorola) (X=ID number flashing)
Current Voice Frequency NFM,,,,

If not functioning as above then press and hold trunk then SCAN or SEARCH, depending on the mode desired.

Have you verified communications between software and scanner? I.E., in the opening window of software, use BC250D pulldown and select Rs232 cable and Scanner Model Setup, Click AutoDetect near bottom left.

If you do have com with the scanner, post back and we'll go from there
