Hi Mike,

Unfortunately, the BC296D and BC796D will not be able to follow the 700 and 380-400MHz trunking. The scanners do not have the circuitry to receive those bands.

Uniden typically picks testers on reputation/recommendation and they try not to duplicate users in the same geographic area. We already have a test in the Phoenix area, but thank you for your interest and will certainly keep you posted should the situation change. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

Best,
Amanda

Can anyone tell me if the BC296D and the BC796D will be able to be upgraded to follow the 700 and 380-400 Mhz trunking? I live in the Phoenix AZ area and they are testing the 700 Mhz in this area. I purchased scanner in Feb of 2005.
How does one become a tester for the new scanners like the BCD396T
Mike
