Does the Uniden BC330T display the frequency and/or talkgroup number along with the alpha tag like the 250 & 785 does ?

Showing the frequency and talkgroup number was one of the many things I liked about the 250 & 785 - guess I'll be hanging on to both.

Just can't believe Uniden would give up on displaying the talkgroup number !

Don't forget that you CAN choose to have it display the TGID or Frequency instead of the Alpha tag by pressing hold then FUNC + 5, but you can't have both at the same time, as has already been stated. I would suspect it's largely a matter of available real estate. You have to give up something to get something else, especially in a handheld. Uniden simply chose to show only one or the other.

You can (I do) have the frequency as part of the Alpha Tag, since you have 16 characters to work with.

I get what you're saying, but why were they able to show all three with the 250 & 785 models but not the newer ones ?
Seems to me a newer scanner would/should incorporate all of the capabilites of the older scanners and add more goodies.

Someone mentioned earlier in the post that when you hit the volume control, it shows you a bar with the activity on the trunked system. Anyone know what the number that gets displayed in the top right next to the signal meter is for or what it represents?

That is the batt meter

When I hit my volume, all I get is the batt meter, nothing about system status

My signal strength meter is always displayed .

Dave, are you sure its the battery meter? May sound like a stupid question but what is the lowest the meter may read? My battery indicator was flashing and the scanner was beeping. When I hit the volume button, the number that was displayed was 3.71 or something in that area. That number should be lower if the battery is dying, no?

Does the BCT15 have the dual display? I dont remember the 250D showing both the frequency and the alpha tag...

Don't forget that the 330 is also about 1/3 the size the 250/296 is.

It has been answered. It's the battery voltage.
