Hi all:

Newbie here. I have the referenced scanner. I thought it would be good to hook the scanner's headphone output to my PC sound card input so I can hear the output over my PC speakers. I used a regular audio patch cord. While I can hear the output, for some reason, I get a low frequency hum over the speakers that isn't there when I listen to the scanner by itself. Any idea why I cam getting this hum? Is there some kind of filter, etc I can get to eliminate it?

Thanks so much for your help!!

Hi All:

Mid-January update.

The ground loop isolator I bought at Radio Shack seems to be working fine. However, I have noticed that a hiss will begin to build up between scanner receptions. Once a transmission has been received, the hiss is gone but begins to build up between transmissions. It is somewhat noticeable. Any ideas what this is and whether I can fix it somehow?

Thanks so much!
