BC780xlt

I have a Uniden BC780xlt and I know for a fact that the VHF-Hi portion of the radio is gone. It only receives strong signals. UHF and 800mhz is fine. I was wondering of the VHF-Lo portion of the radio is gone? I don't have a real good way to test it out. No one really uses it here in Iowa but Nebraska and Missouri do and I'm not going to drive there just to find out. I was hoping maybe someone here could help me out.

See if you can find a local ham that will transmit a test signal on 50 MHz.

Most baby monitors use 49-50 mhz , should be easy to find

Go out for a Big Mac and sit in the parking lot with your scanner and see if you can hear the drive-thru .:lol:

Just box it up and send it to Uniden repair. They fix the BC780 for 50 bucks, parts included.
