Ok, I havent used my 895 in quite a while....I programmed my local trunked system into bank J and started scanning. There are several talk groups that are data only and when I hit the l/o key to lock them out i get a message saying "FULL". The manual says you can have up to 100 locked out channels. Well, from what I can tell I dont have any channels locked out. I checked all the other banks and the only channels that show loced out are the empty ones (000.000) I don't know why it's telling me it's "FULL". The manual says to clear ALL locked channels to hold in the l/o key for a couple of seconds until you hear two beeps. Well I hold in the l/o key but I only get one beep....not two, and I still get the "FULL" message when I try and lock out a talk group.....

Any Ideas??

Thanks!
Glenn

I didn't have time to completely check the manual, but I think you may need to reprogram that band completely in order to clear the talkgroups that are locked out. You obviously have 100 talkgroups (these aren't memory channels) that you have locked out

You might consider setting up a scan list - if it's small enough - to listen to only those talkgroups that you want to hear. It sounds like your system is digital, with that many talkgroups that have data. The 895 cannot trunk these. 73s Mike

Thanks for the info...I cleared the entire bank "J"...all channels showed 000.000. Then I re-programmed the trunk system back in that bank and I am still getting the "FULL" message when I try and lock-out a talk group. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Glenn,
Look at page 43 of the manual. Shows how to unlock all trunk ID's at one time. Instructions on the same page of the *.pdf version for scrolling through & unlocking them singly. Page 25 shows the procedure for conventional channels in a single bank.

I tried the procedure on page 43 of the manual, however, when I hold in the L/O button I never get two beeps...I only get one beep and then pressing "E" does nothing. I have scrolled through all of my trunk and conventional channels and there are none that show to be L/O. The only channels that show L/O are the empty ones (000.000). I just can't figure this one out....

Isn't there a procedure to restore the unit back to factory defaults? Holding down certain keys while turing the radio on? I dont really want to do that, but I guess if that will fix it I may have to...

any other ideas?

Thanks...again
Glenn

Talkgroups and channels are not the same thing. You can look at channel lockouts all day and it tells you nothing about talkgroup lockouts.

The radio has storage for 100 talkgroup lockouts. That's for the whole 10 banks, not per system.

Apparently you have more than one trunked system programmed and some or all of those are using up the 100 talkgroup lockout storage.

To reset the radio and erase all programming: With power off, press and hold the keys 2 9 MAN. Turn the radio on and release the keys after a few seconds.

Thanks for the info Pro92b,
I have 3 trunked systems programmed. One in Bank "H", "I" and "J". I have a scan list setup in bank "J" and I have confirmed that there are no locked-out talkgroups in the list. I have not setup any scanlist in "H" or "J" and have never locked out any talkgroups. I just programmed the trunk systems in bank "H" and "I" two days ago...How would/could I confim if I have any talkgroups locked out?

Thanks
Glenn
