I'm new to scanning so bear with me. This BCD 396XT is complicated to me, it's fun, but complicated. I have it set up so that I can scan all the local frequencies. I'm wanting to drive across a couple of states is there a way that it will scan the different frequencies as I drive.
Any help and I will be greatful

If you program latitude/longitude/range for each channel group (conventional) or channel group and site (trunked), then connect a GPS to the scanner it will do exactly that.

(A much less laborious method is to use software to import your channels from the database, here, which already includes the location info for 99% of systems.)

if I download the software do I do it by the counties? For example I will be traveling through the following counties in Kansas Johnson, Douglas, Shawnee, Wabunsee, Geary, Dickinson, Salina and Ellsworth. Would I down load that into my scanner?

You start at county, then select the specific conventional and trunked systems and channels you want to monitor.
