I am not getting the fd page out tone on my scanner but i get the dispatchers verbal message.

I don't have the answer for you but those that might are going to say they need more info. What municipality are you trying to receive pages from would be the start? What have you done thus far would follow.

i live in southern ill and just listening to my general area and places i travel through. all i have done is upload from radioreference. i had the no tones problem and someone said to put everything into NFM mode. so i have done that now but have not heard anything yet. one system is for ST.Louis (P25) have uploaded all control freq. but have not heard anything either???

Are you saying you want to:
A) be able to use the scanner as an FD alert meaning it will be quiet except for when specific tones are transmitted
or
B) are you saying that you want to hear all the dialog including the tones that accompany the call dispatch?
I'm guessing B.
If A, please post what agency your are trying to do this with/for.
One of the experts can prob jump in with this info known.
