I have been borrowing a bcd-436 to compare to my TRX, and trying to learn these units better and monitor in 2 locations as I travel. I'm listening to a DMR Motorola Connect Plus (TRBO) system on BCD436 and would like to turn on AGC. I can not find any settings when editing the favorites list for the system and I see some settings in Sentinel that appear "greyed out" or not modifiable in Sentinel.
Can anyone let me know if it is possible to implement AGC either from the software or the scanner itself and how to find the AGC settings that I can turn on or modify?

The system I am trying to monitor is in my favorites list.
When I navigate to edit that in Sentinel I go to edit my favorites and I see an agc setting on the systems tab but it is "greyed" out. Then I go to options tab but no drop down related to AGC on/off. I looked at the scanner under edit favorites and could not find an agc adjustment for this particular system on the 436 scanner either. Any thoughts as to what I am doing wrong?

The system I am trying to turn AGC on is a DMR Motorola Connect Plus (TRBO)

Any advice appreciated!

Ckeck that you have set a 436 as the target device in Sentinel as SDS scanners do not have AGC.

I just looked and Sentinel is targeted to BCDx36HP so I have that setting correct. The system I a trying to monitor was in the Sentinel database that and I just loaded it into the scanner from Sentinel. The firmware is updated to the latest. I wonder if there are certain digital modes that do not allow turning on/off the agc setting? Such a simple thing and I cant find what I am doing wrong!

What specific system is giving you an issue? Zip up your Sentinel export and post it as an attachment as a reply to this thread so someone can take a look at your settings

...And I'm shocked no one else has asked by now but you've activated the paid DMR upgrade, correct?

It would appear that the Analog AGC is selectable for NXDN only.

The Digital AGC is selectable for P25 only.

It's not available for DMR.

Unfortunately, Uniden has never had an AGC setting that works properly on any of their scanners. So even with AGC on, it won’t matter. Plain and simple.
GRE/Whistler has a great AGC setting that actually works. Wish Uniden could somehow figure out how they did it.

Whistler have some patents and Uniden others that make their scanners not having the exact same features. So we will never have a scanner that have it all, if we don't do our own firmware.
