The home patrol one will do the same thing....the 436 is too hard to operate compared to the HP! or HP2

Among others features, if he needs Phase 2 or Provoice.... The Home Patrol one won't handle either of those.

The BCD436HP is a great scanner, but it's made by Uniden - not Whistler (you posted your question in the Whistler forum).
